Paulo David is a former United Nations Senior Official at the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR). He has been working at OHCHR for almost three decades as Secretary of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, as Regional Representative of the Pacific and as Chief of the Indigenous People’s and Minorities Section. Before joining the UN he has worked at Defense for Childfren-International (DCI), for the international red cross and as journalist. Since 1991, Paulo David has been pioneering work on children’s rights and sport, publishing several books and articles on the topic. He notably published in 2005 his PhD in Law’ thesis as a groundbreaking book entitled « Human Rights in Youth Sports » (Routledge, London). Paulo David has been intensively involved in field hockey and athletics.
